Hello! My name is Tyler and I welcome you to TheTylerProject.com. I created this site to see if it was possible to make a tidy sum of money on the Internet by simply asking for it. The site therefore does not have a purpose other than the fact that it is used to ask for money from strangers.

The goal I've set for this experiment to prove my theory true (that it is possible to make money by simply asking for it), is to reach the sum of $30,000. My hypothesis is that this project will either fail miserably. So far, it's failing miserably.

Now, don't think you won't receive any credit for your donation! You will be added to the site's honourable Contributor List in all it's magnificent glory.

Yes, there have been other sites similar to this one in the past, however The Tyler Project differs in that I am not tricking, blackmailing, or using any other unscrupulous means of receiving donations. Well, it's been another 2 years since my last "post". In that time, I made another $8 which works out to just over 1 cent a day. At this pace, I'll hit the project's $30,000 goal in the year 10,229. Hmm. I guess we don't say 2,010 so it'd be the year 10229.

I just finished implementing a bunch of minor improvements. First, I removed a bunch of renegade squiggly lines that appeared in Microsoft Explorer due to an incorrect path to a blank.gif (oldschool coding!) image on all the pages. I also added a contact form to the Contact page and added a link to the contact page in the left menu.

Finally, I added an option on the Send Money page to allow visitors to donate an amount of their choosing. Now there are no more excuses. I expect to see a lot of $0.01 donations coming in. Hmm... if 1 million people each sent me $0.01, PayPal would get no cut. Hehe.

Oh, I almost forgot. As full disclosure, several hours ago I bought a small ad on a site to try to get the word of this project out. In the 5 years this site has existed, I never paid for any advertising until now as I felt it was against the spirit of the project. However, I am still adamant to not beg for the money nor claim it will be going towards anything altruistic or philanthropic. I also justified the little ad as I did receive $58.01 in donations to date, which is more than the ad cost. In the future I may consider creating a page that discloses any and all expenses made to advertise this project.

Wow, it's been 17 months since I last updated the site. Over 3 years after I created the site, it has only brought in a total of $50.01. But hey, that's $50.01 more than a lot of people thought I'd make.

I've updated the FAQ section to reflect changes made in the past few years and made a few other minor adjustments throughout the site as well.

Well, I guess I'll go back into hibernation and talk to you in another few years unless some more contributions come in before then.

Added a 120x60 banner in the links section. Also updated a couple photos as well as updated the 468x60 banners with new images of yours truely.

TheTylerProject has now reached $48. Slow and steady wins the race...

Since I haven't updated the site in such a long time, I will be updating my photo and age on the site, as well as adding another image of myself on the FAQ page. Wallet-sized photos available in stores near you.

I also fixed two typo's on the FAQ page.
